Les Miserables The Movie 2012

One of my favourite musicals when i was a child brought back to life in the form of a movie.
~Is this the real life.. Is this just fantasy~

The movie was just so much more realistic for some reason. The richness of the storyline, the tragity, the acting, the singing and so much more of the movie is just pure gold i don't even know where to begin with!

Throughout the whole movie, i was just thinking to myself, everything here's fake. Little did i know after watching the behind the scenes, i realized that most of the buildings and the scenaries are real and not CG. That's what i love most about films being made so real just like this one. Director Tom Hooper basically wanted everything to be there. Very little CG was used during the filming which was pretty rare considering it to be a 'current' film. This made it much more realistic and this is why i realized why i could actually feel what the whole movie was trying to convey even though the storyline has slipped off my mind after a couple of years. Amazing i'm telling you. One thing i also like about the behind the scenes footage was how they carefully did their research on all the costumes, model it like how we are told to do so in our Form&Space module. I also agree on what the head designer had to say about her whole job, 'Can you believe it' which basically means whether your work is believable or not which will have a great impact on what you're doing. So to sum it all up and why i am amazed at such a masterpiece.. Here's the behind the scene footage:

One more thing that even surprised me was how they had to sing everything live without stopping in between a scene which is REALLY impressive! As a musical to movie lover, most of the movies that are remade usually record their studio versions of the songs and then dub it over but the way the Tom Hooper does it is just unreal. It really brings out the character of what the actress/actor is portraying and it also shows raw emotions.

I would give this show a 5/5 for a clear story line, superb acting, superb singing, and yes, the one thing that's hard to please of me from a movie. It made me cry! :'D Yes, i know that the movie's depressing, tragic and all but i still love it so much even though there weren't THAT many visual effects in it! Which still made it so much more magical!
